Itinerary
DAY 01 | DIMAPUR → KOHIMA — Gateway to the Naga Hills
Distance: Approx. 74–75 KM | Travel Time: Approx. 2.5–3.5 Hours | Overnight: Kohima
Upon arrival at Dimapur Airport / Railway Station, meet our representative and begin your scenic journey towards Kohima, the picturesque capital of Nagaland. As the journey progresses, the landscape gradually changes from the plains of Dimapur to lush green hills and winding mountain roads.
En Route Experience: Beautiful Naga Hills, Forest-covered landscapes, Mountain viewpoints, Traditional settlements.
Upon arrival in Kohima, check in to the hotel and relax. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely walk around Kohima and experience the atmosphere of this charming hill capital.

DAY 02 | KOHIMA LOCAL SIGHTSEEING — History, Culture & the Spirit of Kohima
Distance: Approx. 25–35 KM | Travel Time: Approx. 2–3 Hours + Sightseeing | Overnight: Kohima
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day exploration of Kohima.
Places to Visit:
• Kohima War Cemetery — A beautifully maintained memorial commemorating soldiers who lost their lives during the Battle of Kohima in World War II. It is one of the city's most significant historical landmarks.
• Nagaland State Museum — Discover traditional costumes, ornaments, weapons, household objects and cultural artefacts representing the rich heritage of Nagaland.
• Kohima Cathedral — Visit one of the city's prominent landmarks and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
• Kohima Local Market — Explore local products, handicrafts and the everyday lifestyle of the people of Nagaland.
Today's journey combines history, culture and local life, giving travellers an introduction to the fascinating heritage of Nagaland.

DAY 03 | KOHIMA → KHONOMA → KISAMA → KOHIMA — Green Village & Naga Heritage Experience
Distance: Approx. 50–60 KM | Travel Time: Approx. 3–4 Hours + Sightseeing | Overnight: Kohima
After breakfast, drive towards Khonoma Village, approximately 25 km from Kohima according to Nagaland Government route information.
KHONOMA VILLAGE — Known for its beautiful terraced fields, forested hills and strong community traditions, Khonoma offers an immersive village experience. Nagaland Tourism also highlights its conservation initiatives and describes it as the first Green Village in Asia. Enjoy: Traditional village architecture, Terraced paddy fields, Mountain landscapes, Local lifestyle, Nature & photography.
KISAMA HERITAGE VILLAGE — Continue towards Kisama Heritage Village, the cultural showcase associated with Nagaland's famous Hornbill Festival. Explore traditional Naga Morungs, indigenous architecture, handicrafts and cultural displays.
Festival Special: During the Hornbill Festival, Kisama becomes a major centre for cultural performances, food, music, crafts and traditional celebrations. Nagaland Tourism currently lists the 2026 Hornbill Festival for 1–10 December 2026.
Return to Kohima after sightseeing.

DAY 04 | KOHIMA → WOKHA → MOKOKCHUNG — A Scenic Drive Through the Naga Highlands
Distance: Approx. 152 KM | Travel Time: Approx. 6–7 Hours | Overnight: Mokokchung
After breakfast, check out and begin your scenic journey towards Mokokchung via Wokha. The official Nagaland Government route data lists Kohima–Mokokchung via Wokha at approximately 152 km, making this one of the key mountain journeys of the itinerary.
En Route Experience: Misty mountain roads, Forest landscapes, Traditional Naga settlements, Scenic valleys, Photography opportunities, Local village life.
As you approach Mokokchung, experience the changing landscape and the cultural character of the Ao Naga region. On arrival, check in to the hotel and relax.

DAY 05 | MOKOKCHUNG LOCAL EXPLORATION — Discover the Ao Naga Heritage
Distance: Approx. 30–50 KM | Travel Time: Approx. 3–5 Hours + Sightseeing | Overnight: Mokokchung
After breakfast, explore Mokokchung and its surrounding villages.
Suggested Experiences: Mokokchung Town, Traditional Naga villages, Local viewpoints, Traditional houses, Local market, Handicrafts, Cultural interaction, Photography.
Mokokchung is an important cultural centre of Nagaland, and the state's tourism policy identifies several heritage locations within Mokokchung district.
Today's Experience: Rather than simply visiting attractions, today is designed around slow travel and cultural immersion — observing village life, architecture, traditions and the peaceful rhythm of the Naga hills.

DAY 06 | MOKOKCHUNG → DIMAPUR — Journey Back to the Gateway of Nagaland
Distance: Approx. 220–225 KM | Travel Time: Approx. 7–8 Hours
After breakfast, check out and proceed towards Dimapur. The drive takes you from the highlands towards the plains, offering one final opportunity to enjoy the changing landscapes of Nagaland. On arrival at Dimapur Airport / Railway Station, proceed for your onward journey.
