Mungpoo is a quiet hamlet in the Darjeeling district, best known for its association with Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, who stayed here in the 1930s. The village is surrounded by cinchona plantations, orange orchards and tea gardens, with spectacular views of the Kanchenjunga range. The Rabindra Bhavan museum at Mungpoo has now become a place of pilgrimage for Tagore lovers from around the world.
Itinerary

Arrival at NJP/Bagdogra. Drive to Mungpoo via Rohini Road (approx. 3 hrs). Evening at leisure. Overnight stay.

Visit Rabindra Bhavan Museum, cinchona plantations and local tea gardens. Afternoon hike to nearby viewpoints. Overnight stay.

Early morning Kanchenjunga sunrise. After breakfast drive back to NJP/Bagdogra.
